I have a lovely antique bird cage that I want to restore for my canaries and would like to know if their are any types of paint that are safe?
Can you use a liquid paint striper on a bird cage to remove the paint instead of sanding it by hand?

I bought a really nice bird cage at a rummage, it has just a few areas that I would like to fix up where there’s a little rust under the old paint.
So can I sand those rust areas a wee bit and paint it with something safe, and if so, what kind of paint is Safe?
